Internal systems for SMEs: from eternal Excel to an operable panel

Start with flow and states
Before building UI, define the flow: states, responsible parties and rules. Example (sales): lead → qualified → proposal → negotiation → won/lost. Without this, the system only digitizes chaos.

Consistent (and auditable) data
What adds value is being able to answer quickly: what happened, when, who touched it and why. A serious internal system takes care of unique keys, permissions, traceability and validations.

Typical deliverables
Operational panel (listings, filters, states, actions), roles and permissions, logs/activity and traceability, integrations if they add value (ERP/CRM/email) and minimal documentation. The goal is to gain control, not to make software for the sake of it.

Tools and typical stack
Django/Flask for the backend, React/Next.js for the frontend, PostgreSQL/MySQL for data, authentication and permissions system. The stack depends on the case, but the base is usually: web framework + database + authentication.
